Back in Boringbroke
Halloa folks, I am officially back in Boringbroke..... For those who havent quite figured wat tat is, well go figure la!! So my flight back was not bad not bad at all; MAS is pretty spacious, and with a free flow of wine, what more could ya ask for?? Sigh i am myself perplexed at how fast my holidaze zoomed by; one month of awesomeness going by in a jiffy..... It feels like just yesterday I landed in Malaysia for my one month holiday....aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh >.< i will be back in November i swear!!!!! But enuf of playing the pessimist... Time for a bit of optimism........=p So i'm back, last sem i failed education... bahaha......but who d fuck carez?!!! I'm not gunna do education in a combination degree... I realized that it's not in my best interest for several stupendously good reasons... First.. The Adelaide Uni school of education is not the most dedicated faculty there is around... Dey usually won't respond to your online queries; you gotta go see them in person in order to get a response; which is fine for me since i live next door in Unihouse; but it just comes to show deyr utter negligence in matters academic. Also, by taking arts and education, i won't get to do asian studies since my timetable would be too full for electives... This way, if I do education as a seperate degree from arts, I get to do asian studies!!^^ And finally, I'm dropping education for the versatility it offers.. I mean, if I do graduate with a good bachelor degree I might get to do my diploma in education at any university in Australia.. May not even be Adelaide Uni!! I may apply to Flinders or UniSA or Macquarie for my diploma, depending on my results.. But daymn am I a bz bz man.... Having to go see the faculty of arts to negotiate my transfer into B.A.......Anyway, to digress back to my holidayz... I had heaps of fun in malaysia!!!^^ So in linear order, here's what I did:
Christian Fellowship: We had a fellowship, whose pic i've already posted in one of my previous entries..... Pretty awesome=D
Melaka Trip:
So I went with a coupla chums to Melaka to go and eat eat eat!!! First time trying celop satay, looks disgusting but it's actually quite a delicacy!!!=D
Penang Trip: No pics of this, but my family and I went to Penang for a few days to eat eat and eat, since Penang has the best food in the world, no kidding!!! Met up with my friend Grace in Penang for supper; God I love Penang!!!^^
Supper at my house: Dragged Peh and Tam over to my house for supper... I know Peh may not look like the type, but he sure does a killer maggi goreng!!! yummyyummy... And we had that with roti canai.....mmmmm Now try coupling maggi goreng, roti canai with a coupla bottles of Red Wine... One word... Delish!!=p So by the time we finished eating; around 1am, we were already punch drunk and beating the shit out of each other.
The Gravy to go with our roti
It's a crime to waste, so i tot i'd take it on myself to finish up the wine
Lagoon trip: And so the next day, we were off to Sunway Lagoon straight from my house!!! The place is HUMUNGOUS now... With a few new parks having been added...
Tam and I on the suspension bridge; on the way to the Flying Fox... Both Peh and I chickened out coz we hv a phobia for heights, and we have watched Final Destination and noticed that the result of such stunts are usually not very pretty in that movie
Just after the Scream Park; omg i was clinging on to Peh like a lil girl; i donno y i'm admitting that, but it was terrifying!!!!!!!>.<
So overall my holidays have been awesome and I am definitely looking forward to my end of year holidayze to repeat the same episodes again... Only this time we will be going to Singapore!!!^^ Amen.

Home sweet home!!!!!=D
OMGAAAAAAWWWWD ITS SOOOOOOO FAAARRRRKING GREAT TO BE HOOOOOOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ya know I could write an entire thesis on why I prefer Malaysia to Aus despite the better treatment I receive in Aus, but for lack of time lets just make do with these few now shall we:
1. Better food
Honestly, I've been stuffing my face day in day out ever since I touched down in Malaysia last Tuesday. I mean, it's not that the food in Australia is absolutely unpalatable; its bearable. And when I say ''bearable'', I actually mean normal. Nothing particularly exhillarating for the tastebuds, just normal food(Pasta, Pizza, Burgers, Seafood, Etc). I suppose what the typical Western Fare is lacking in is OIL. And spices. In other words, it's just plain bland. It's just not oily enough to satisfy my fussy asian tastebuds!!! Funny that the obesity rate in Australia seems to be much more severe that our obesity rate up here in Malaysia.. I mean, just look at all the greasy culinary delights that can be found in no other place than Malaysia such as Maggi Goreng, Yau Char Kuai, Fried Kway Teow noodles, etc... gosh they're the epitome of gastronomical sinfullness mmmmm.... Lucky bastards us Malaysians... We never seem to grow fat even though we eat those for breakfast every day....xp And sometimes before bedtime..kekeke So as soon as I landed in Malaysia, off I went to the mamak(Indian Muslim Restaurant) to enjoy a nice hot plate of fried maggi noodles... mmmmmmmm hadnt had that in awhile..... Oh my God I do believe I'm going to be spoiled with choice with delicacies!!!!!!!
2. Better shopping
Have you noticed that all the Australian shopping malls; even those in metropolitan centres like Melbourne and Sydney, have one thing in common? They all look the same!!! To me they appear as nothing more than clones without substance; having a standardized variety of shops... There only seem to be 2 major supermarket chains, Coles and Woolworths... How utterly bland... Compared to our variety of Carrefour, Jusco, Giant, Tesco, and Cold Storage. And as I've aforementioned, Aussie shopping malls just don't have the correct ambience to please me..
So basically I've been having tons of fun since my return to Malaysia... Met up with Hazim and Joel and watched Drag Me to Hell at Sunway Pyramid... Unfortunately we took no pics of that.... And after that, off me and Joel went for our church concert with Alex, Esther and Grace... And speaking of concerts, that one was the bomb!!! Time just seemed to fly at that concert..... And after that, off we went to ss2 for supper around 11pm... Gosh those evil people, attempted to pry me from my vegetarian practice... But I am not so damned weak as to be influenced from my humanitarian pursuits for justice for the sake of so ephemeral a pleasure as the tayste of meat!!!! Despite having several oysters forced down my throat by Joel, I shall not yield to your meatarian values Pehhhh!!!! bwahahhahahahahahahaaahhaha!!!!!!
Esther, Grace, Alex, Joel, and Me after the concert; AMEN!!!!!XD

If you're going through Hell, keep going.
Time flies does it not..... It seems like just yesterday when I was a freshie among the several hundred new students at Adelaide Uni, listening to the Vice Chancellor's welcome speech in Elder Hall... And now, semester 2 is near completion...=D Overall I have mixed feelings of Adelaide; on one hand, people here are no doubt tons of times more civil than the average Malaysian chimp you meet in the streets of Kl... On the other hand... At a loss as to a better word to describe Adelaide..... BORING!!!!!!!! Never in my life; had i suspected; the design of the shopping malls to be so....bland!!!! I mean; after having lived in Asia for the past 18 years, you have a certain tiptop standard as to how a shopping mall ought to be... And I can only sum up the design of the shopping malls in Adelaide in one word: outrageous!!!!! First of all, the Malls here look butt-ugly on the outside, which kills your enthusiasm to shop. Google ''marion adelaide'' on google images and you'll see what I mean. Secondly... The malls here are all... FLAVOURLESS CLONES!!! In every mall you will find the same bland design(lack of vibrance, ambience, etc). Compared to architechtural feats like Mid Valley Megamall and the Pavillion KL, the shopping malls here are simply hidieous!!! In short, they fall short of falling short...And not crowded enough!!! You just don't feel energetic with a lack of crowds.. And lack of energy = Lack of enthusiasm to spend your hard-earned cash... So yeah, shopping here sux; that simply means, more money saved for my mega spurge in Kuala Lumpur when I get back in July... Yipeeeeeee!!!^^ So we're done with History and Education for this semester... Being the remorseless procrastinator I am, I saved my History Assignment till one night before the due date(we had 3 months to finish it). My coursemate Athena put it this way: ''I'll never forget that seeing you carrying that HUGE pile of books with that desperate look on your face!!!=P'', since I began my assignment at 9pm that night in the library and completed it by 11.30 the next morning... And guess what?! I passed!!!! 62.5%.... Not bad for a slacker eyyyyyy...=D

Time and Tide waits for no Man
Aiyoyoyoyo!! I have officially less than two days to complete that cheebye english assignment, which i have absolutely no clue how to begin...=/ And to think; its due on thursday?? Amazing.... Not to mention what else i have on my plate.. Including a Linguistics essay that's due on the 29th, as well as the Education Essay that's due on the first of June. Now, one would expect me to be in a state of panic under such circumstances; burning the midnite oil, dousing myself with caffeine!! I say fuck that..=D I say... I deserve a good night's rest, after all the ''attempts'' at gathering whatever information i could find to supplement my assignments.. So here I am lying in bed, ready to pop into dreamland, typing my latest blog entry. Ohhh gosh, I'm in a super dilemma!! If i miss Wing Chun training tomorrow, not only would I be lagging far behind the class; I would have to postpone my ''bar-bashing'' till a later date, when I get more proficient.. But still.. I guess I would have to admit that education takes first priority to martial arts. I can always catch up later, and I can always bar-bash at a later date.. Right.. Now dear reader, to digress from the horrifyingly bleak world of education, let me enlighten you on a new practice of mine- VEGERARIANISM!! You see, I never imagined, until just recently, that I would take such a major step in the history of my 19 years of existence in this world; that i would denounce the consumption of meat of all kinds, including seafood(heyy they are living beings too, that can feel, aren't they). You might wonder: what was it that caused me, a remorseless carnivore, to suddenly abhor the consumption of flesh? Well.. Firstly, I made some vegetarian friends, and noticed that they seem perfectly healthy despite their choice of diet. Normally vegetarians are associated with skininess due to a severe lack of protein, BUT here's the catch. People insist on eating meat on the pretext that they are deriving their protein sources from the meat. But think about it. Don't beans have proteins as well? Does tofu not have protein as well? Don't eggs have protein as well?? I mean Brad Pitt's a vegetarian and look at him!! He is hardly what you would describe as scrawny now would you? My point is; lack of protein is simply not an excuse to go and butcher an innocent creature for the sake of a person's bodily wants. I mean, I've no objection to casual sex to satiate a person's bodily wants, but I do feel that eating meat is a form of euphamized murder. I mean, even though you did not DIRECTLY play a role in the killing of the creature as the buthcer did, in the end- you're still equally guiltayyy......
Think about it. God forbid if your child were to be taken away, slaughtered, carved up and served on a plate as somebody's entree, how would you feel about it? As Ralph Waldo Emerson so astutely put it:''You have just dined, and however scrupulously the slaughterhouse is concealed in the graceful distance of miles, there is complicity.''
Also, I've just found out that some of my role models whom I believe set a standard that all of us should strive to live up to, are vegetarians. The list includes people like Gandhi, as aforementioned, Emerson, Pythagoras, and so many more! I believe; that meat is absolutely unnecessary for the body, and there are delicious ways of filling oneself up without actually having meat. Vegetarian diet not filling enough??? No problemo!! Just eat humungous portions!! Not tasty enough?? Try pasta with pesto!!! MMMmmmm now that I mention that dish, I don't think I even miss meat one single bit!!! Now I look forward to my robust meatless breakfast, which will consist of bread and butter, my meatless lunch, which will consist of pasta with beans, and finally; my meatless supper, which will consist of pasta with beans again with 2 eggs!!
So in conclusion... Meat is murder my dear friend!!!!

Idleness
Today I decided to play the role of the stereotypical couch potato, cooking myself a ridiculously heavy dinner(A ton of pasta, 2 eggs, one fish fillet + 3 wheat bix and yoghurt) and just sit down, rewind, and relax. I know it's bad for me, I'm gonna get fat if I keep this relapsed old habit of mine up.. But I can't help it! I'm bored! I need something fun to do!! A coupla days ago I was at the state library, and so I borrowed a few movies to keep myself occupied at night. So I popped into my DVD Player this one particular movie called ''Poltergeist'' directed by Stephen Speilberg. In case you've been living under a shell, a Poltergeist is a type of ghost which has a penchant for chucking stuff around, causing havoc in his/her haunt. I found this movie to be quite entertaining actually.. I mean, it was pretty freaky at certain parts, as it no doubt reinforces my phobia for dolls(watch the movie and you'll see what I mean). Speilberg; despite at that time being a fairly novice director, still manages to successfully instill in you a certain feeling of trepidation, you know. I mean, ever since I was a kid, I've never had any fear for things such as monsters, goblins, etc... Coz those things are physical(you can see them, you can kill them). Rather, my fear was more inclined towards what I COULD NOT see. Things that simply cannot die for two reasons. Firstly; they are already dead, and secondly, they just aren't physical. I admit; ever since I was a kid, ghost stories have had a rather debilitating effect on my nervous system, causing me to freak out at every little sound in my bed room at night, in bed. That is precisely why; I HATE being alone sometimes. Not to mention that I live in Unihouse, of which the history I am completely unaware of. OOooooooo I hope my bro does succeed in getting into Adelaide U next year, then I could at least take consolation in the fact that I will be having a roommate! Ohhhh, and speaking of TV shows, there's this one particular series that I've been absolutely hooked on, and that is The Tudors. I love it, seriously! Would you believe it if I told you I finished two seasons in two days? No kidding!! It's that good!! It basically chronicles the life and times of King Henry the eigth during his younger days, and who better to play the monstrously sinister King other than Jonathan Rhys-Meyers??=D I mean, not only does he have the suitable ''look''(those cruel, piercing eyes do justice to the role he plays); he sure does a fine job at making King Henry look like the monster he really was. ''Now why would anyone want to do a TV series about that gluttinous old pig?'', you might ask. Well, King Henry was not always the gluttinous old pig that we all perceive him to be. During his younger days, he was not even remotely close to that description, and Jonathan Rhys-Meyers is living proof of that(the fact that King Henry was an athletic, super muscly guy in his 20s)! Ahh, I know what you're thinking! You are now in doubt as to whether my straightness is genuine or feigned, simply because I like Jonathan Rhys-Meyers! No nononono, I don't like him.. Point of fact is, I LOVE Jonathan Rhys-Meyers.. There are numerous senses to the word love, so therefore figure out which type of love I have for him yourself! I just love the charisma that oozes out from him(now this really does sound homosexual), the manliness and childishness, both of which he can convey at the same time; but then again, I would as readily say the same things about Wang Lee Hom, so you're really entitled to your opinion with regard to where I stand in terms of sexuality. Ohh for Pete's sakes I'm straight dammit!! But of all The Tudors' cast and crew, I must say I enjoyed Natalie Dorman's performance as Anne Boleyn; King Henry's ill-fated second wife. In fact, I am totally head over heels infatuated with Natalie Dorman, childish as it may sound, coz she is the bomb! But hey!! How many young women out there don't go ga-ga over the so-called handsome vamp Edward Cullen? If they have the right to have crushes on him, then surely us guys have the right to have crushes on Natalie Dorman! I was so sad when the Second Season ended with Anne Boleyn's execution at the tower of London; I really wish she could have stuck around longer!! Ohhh I've spoilt what happens in the end for you? Awwwww...... Nevertheless, it's called history!! Go check it up on Wikipedia of you don't believe me, or ask your History Teacher(a competant one)! But still... Us male fans have Joss Stone to look forward too... She's gonna play his fourth wife, Anne of Cleeves... Hinthint^^ oooo I'm sooooo looking forward to it....
King Henry aged around 20: I've got a great, big sword!! Ain't it just sexy??=D
King Henry aged around 50: Me? Fat? Bah, stuff and nonsense! I'm perfectly rounded, that's all!=p
The real Anne Boleyn(left), and Natalie Dorman's portrayal of her(right). She really was a strikingly beautiful woman wasn't she?? What a waste of such a pretty head.....=(
